Brick Labyrinth 2003
Brick labyrinth (7 paths, permanent), Deutschvilla
on the Wolfgangsee
Material: 1102 fired clay bricks
Diameter: 13 m
Background: The square in front of the villa was once used by Freemasons for ceremonies. My work realised the theme of the exhibition,Connecting with the Environment,by re-newing the energy of the square through the labyrinth. The two existing circles of gravel were integrated as the first and fifth paths of the labyrinth. The centre of the labyrinth co-incides with the centre of the two circles, strengthening the connection.
