Labyrinth Seitenstetten 2005

This labyrinth was created in collaboration with Abbot Berthold Heigl and the landscape gardener Andrea Stejskal in the monastery garden of Seitenstetten, Nieder-Oesterreich.
Material: river stones, marble, wood, bushes, roses ...
Diameter: 18 m, width of path 1.20 m

My design relates to the “Pilgrim's Path”. The path is laid out with small river stones set in cement to form a 7-circuit labyrinth. A stylized Flower of Life, made of marble plates, symbolizes the centre.
When one walks the path barefooted and so directly touches earth and stones, well-being arises. Moreover, there is the side effect of a foot massage (reflexology).
The landscape gardener chose the plants and built a symbolic rosary into the outer circuit of the labyrinth – therefore also the name “Rosary Labyrinth”.

Motto: healing for body, spirit, and soul.
