The 7-paths labyrinth on the sphere

For sixteen years now I have explored the 7-paths labyrinth, its symbolic content and energetic structure - as land art, to be walked in open space, but also in my work with clay as relief, bowl, and especially on a spherical shape.
I began by modelling the labyrinth design onto the surface of the sphere. Out of this, according to my motto “light and matter”, I developed spherical shapes from which I cut out various patterns, turning the spheres into “light grids”. The labyrinth pattern is now hardly recognizable; the aim here is to dissolve dense matter, to turn heaviness into lightness. The clay has become the medium for light, shadow, and space. Therefore the sphere is left unglazed and only the interior surface is painted with white/yellow slip.
My aim is the transformation of these objects from denseness to transparency.
