Labyrinth Spheres 1999

Labyrinth spheres (7 paths and 11 paths), Shedhalle St. Pölten
Materials: clay, hollow spheres, slab technique
Diameter: 35 cm

After my labyrinth work using hemispheres to create fountains I started to examine the structure of the labyrinth using Ariadne's thread on the surface of the spheres. This was for the first labyrinth exhibition in German-speaking countries (by Ilse M. Seifried). Since there many variations have been created.

The sphere symbolises the world, wholeness, unity. The individual labyrinth sphere represents the concept: The whole world is a labyrinth.
